Looking to crew? To make sure everyone has a safe and enjoyable day on the water, please remember these important guidelines before requesting a spot.
Personal Preparation
You are responsible for your own fishing gear, food, and any entry fees.
Physical Demands and Responsibilities
Boating is physically demanding, whether you're heading offshore or staying in the backwater. When you sign on as crew, you are expected to handle yourself and assist the captain. This means you must be physically capable of:
Getting in and out of the boat safely.
Remaining standing in rough water.
Helping with the operation of the boat, including lowering and pulling up the anchor.
Assisting with fishing tasks like netting and gutting fish.
Helping with clean-up at the end of the day.
Remember, you are joining as a crew member, not a client hiring a guide. This is a team effort. Also, don't forget to chip in for gas money.
Fishing Etiquette
You must be familiar with the Fishing Etiquette document, which is available on the club website.
